Thorsten Koeppl

Professor Thorsten V. Koeppl is Associate Professor and RBC Fellow in the Department of Economics at Queen's University. He has degrees in management and in economics from the Universities of Eichstaett/Ingolstadt and Basle, and received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Minnesota in 2002.

Professor Koeppl has served as an advisor on financial markets infrastructure for the Bank of Canada and the European Central Bank, and has informed high level policy groups such as the Committee of Payments and Settlement Systems (CPSS) on theoretical and empirical research in that field. His main research interests fall also in the areas of macroeconomics, monetary and banking theory as well as financial economics and risk management.
