Roundtable Luncheon - Unleashing Productivity: The Role of Innovative Technology in Canada’s New Economy

Please note the newly scheduled date of May 18, 2016.

Mr. MacDonald has led the growth and transformation of Softchoice since 2001, guiding the company from software direct marketer to one of North America’s largest IT solutions and managed services providers.

Under Mr. MacDonald’s leadership – through organic growth and the integration of five acquisitions across the US and Canada – Softchoice has grown from 250 employees to over 1,300 today, and increased annual revenues from $250 million to over $1 billion (USD).

Mr. MacDonald also led Softchoice’s going private transaction in 2013, and the formation of a senior leadership team responsible for the company’s full solutions and services business model, including solution design and implementation, asset management, cloud services, and a world-class managed services portfolio.

During his tenure, Softchoice has been named one of Canada’s Best Workplaces 10 years in a row, and is just one of four organizations across Canada to hold that distinction. Softchoice was also named one of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2013, and recently received a Glassdoor Employee’s Choice Award. This reflects Mr. MacDonald’s passion for employee development, as well as his ardent support of Softchoice Cares - a thriving employee-led philanthropic initiative that promotes technology literacy around the world.

Mr. MacDonald is active on a number of partner advisory councils, including Microsoft, Cisco, and IBM. As the Chair of the Board of Governors for the Information Technology Association of Canada, Mr. MacDonald is also deeply involved in promoting innovation and technology adoption in the Canadian public and private sectors. Prior to joining Softchoice, Mr. MacDonald held senior global executive roles over an 18-year career at Xerox Corporation.
