Leo de Bever joined the Alberta Investment Management Corporation as CEO in August 2008.
He started his 35 year career at the Bank of Canada in Ottawa in 1975.
For nearly ten years Leo served as a senior vice-president at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, with responsibility for long-term investment strategy, risk management, and real return assets.
Leo grew up in the Netherlands. He received a B.A. in economics from the University of Oregon, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin.
Leo is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of Dutch pension fund APG and is on the Board of the International Centre for Pension Management based in Toronto.
