Past speakers at Institute roundtables include the CEOs of many of Canada’s largest corporations, federal and provincial premiers and cabinet ministers, leading academics, the Governor of the Bank of Canada and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
We also provide signature special events, including an annual CEO (or equivalent) dinner, and an annual Benefactors Lecture/Dinner for Institute members.
Institute members are also invited to attend the annual Sylvia Ostry Lecture, established in honour of Dr. Ostry’s important role in freeing trade in the postwar years.
The Institute also hosts special dinners to raise funds for specific policy-focussed initiatives. For example, in May 2010, close to 400 members and friends of the Institute attended a special fundraising dinner to celebrate the creation of the Institute’s Monetary Policy Endowment and the naming of Professor Christopher Ragan as the inaugural holder of the Institute’s David Dodge Chair in Monetary Policy.
