Current Funding Opportunities
The Institute is currently focusing its funding on two very important areas: The 50th Anniversary Celebration and Endowment.
The 50th Anniversary Celebration
The goal of the 50th Anniversary Celebration is to transform the C.D. Howe Institute, bringing it into the ranks of the world’s best in its ability to attract top-rated researchers and scholars
The 50th Anniversary Celebration provides the C.D. Howe Institute's members and friends with an opportunity to recognize its unique contribution and strengthen its role as a national, non-partisan resource for opinion makers and policy leaders. It will provide current and former members of the Institute, as well as leaders from all sectors of Canadian public life, with vehicles to support specific activities at the Institute, both through endowments and through operating support for the Institute’s programs. |

Endowment
An endowed fund is a way of ensuring that your philanthropic gift has a lasting impact on the C.D. Howe Institute. The strength of an endowment is inherent in its structure. Donors make gifts that are pooled into one fund, with gifts from other donors. The larger the capital, the more income is generated.
A percentage of the income that is generated by the endowment capital is spent annually but the capital itself remains untouched, ensuring that monies continue to be generated with each succeeding year.
Funds from the Endowment at the C.D. Howe Institute will be used to support a number of initiatives such as research papers, conferences, a lecture or even a communications initiative to better influence policy debate.
“I commend you for all the work you have done around developing and highlighting sound economic and social policies. Your work has influenced policy makers, academics, the media, as well as private and public sector leaders. It has shaped opinions, identified key challenges, encouraged independent research and analysis, evaluated reforms, enhanced debates and influenced decision making relevant to the quality of life of Canadians.” — Gordon Campbell, Premier of BC
