BlackRock Canada’s Managing Director, Marcia Moffat will provide an industry perspective and a point of view on the evolution of the investment industry in Canada. 

Marcia Moffat is the Head of BlackRock in Canada.  As Country Head, she is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of BlackRock's Canadian business.  She is a member of BlackRock's Global Operating Committee, Global Retail Executive Committee and Americas Executive Committee.

Ms. Moffat has spent most of her career in financial services, with industry experience across both institutional and retail businesses.  Her experience includes twelve years at the Royal Bank of Canada where she held senior roles in three distinct areas: investment banking, investor relations, and retail banking.  Ms. Moffat began her career as a corporate finance lawyer in the New York and Paris offices of Shearman & Sterling.

Ms. Moffat is involved with several not-for-profit organizations.  This includes serving as Vice Chair and Chair of the Audit Committee for the Ontario Brain Institute, as a Board Member for the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance, and as a Committee Member for Bridgepoint Hospital's Great Jewellery Heist.

Ms. Moffat earned a BS degree in biology from McGill University in 1991, a law degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 1996, and an MBA degree from the Rotman School of Management in 1996. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association.
