Biography

Matt has held a number of positions with Environment Canada. He spent much of his career negotiating international environmental agreements on climate change, air pollution and biodiversity. He played a central role in the development and agreement of Canada’s national Air Quality Management System before serving as the Director General of the Climate Change Policy Office where he helped lead the development of the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change. He is now leading the Climate Policy Implementation Office and is focused on overseeing the effective implementation of Canada’s climate change policies.
