The Honourable Michael Tibollo, Ontario's Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions
Dr. Michael Tibollo is a transformative force in mental health and addictions, serving as Ontario’s Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and MPP for Vaughan–Woodbridge. With over 30 years in international law, clinical psychology, and addiction counseling, he pairs compassionate, research-driven policies with action, advocating for innovative, bed-based treatment solutions. A former CEO of a therapeutic center and a certified addictions counselor, Dr. Tibollo has been honoured with distinctions including the Canada 125 Medal, Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, the King Charles III Coronation Medal, and the title of Grande Ufficiale in Italy. His international recognition also includes affiliations with the Hungarian Order, the Order of Malta, St. John of Jerusalem, the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Knights of Columbus, where he serves as a humanitarian ambassador. Fluent in five languages and a 5th-degree Taekwondo black belt, he exemplifies resilience, discipline, and commitment to positive change across Ontario’s mental health landscape.
