December 12  – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the appointment of Angela Ferrante as a Senior Fellow.

“Angela and the C.D. Howe Institute have a long and rewarding history together,” said Robson “We continue to reap the benefit of her strategic advice and experience in many fields, including energy, healthcare, governance and communications.”

Angela Ferrante was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the C.D.Howe Institute from 1989 to 1999. She also served in a number of other roles including former Chief Operating Officer, the Ontario Energy Board, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, BMO Financial Group, and Vice President, Public Affairs, Ontario Power Generation. Prior to this she worked for over twenty years in journalism, writing for a number of publications including The Montreal Star, The Montreal Gazette, and Maclean's.

She has over 25 years experience in governance roles on the Boards of Crown Corporations and Not For Profits, including as chair of Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, and the TVOntario Foundation. She has also sat on the boards of the Independent Electricity System Operator, Via Rail Canada, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, Canadian Foundation for Governance Research, the Canadian Journalism Foundation, the National Newspaper Awards, PEN International, the Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation and the Canadian Club.
