Dr. Reuber was an officer of the Order of Canada, a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and chair of the Institute's Board of Directors.
The Board and Staff of the C.D. Howe Institute mourn the passing of Dr. Grant Louis Reuber.
Dr. Reuber served as chair of the Institute’s Board of Directors from June 1986 – June 1988. At the University of Western Ontario, he chaired the Economics Department, was the first dean of the Faculty of Social Science, the Vice-President (Academic) and Provost, and then Chancellor. He also served as Chairman of the Ontario Economic Council, Deputy Minister of Finance, President and Chief Operating Office of the Bank of Montreal, and Chairman of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation. For his many contributions to Canada, he was made an officer of the Order of Canada and a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
