June 27, 2016 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the appointment of Dr. David R. Johnson, Professor (Economics) at Wilfrid Laurier University, as a Research Fellow.

“David’s work as the C.D. Howe Institute’s Education Policy Scholar has provided key insights into the contributions different schools and school boards make to student achievement,” said Robson. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration with him.”

Professor Johnson’s research interests are in the areas of macroeconomics, international finance and the economics of education.  He received his PhD from Harvard University and prior to joining Wilfrid Laurier University in 1985, he worked at the Bank of Canada for two years.  Professor Johnson has written thirteen reports on provincial education issues as Education Policy Scholar at the Institute and has also written on monetary policy issues while teaching macroeconomics at Laurier University.
