November 5, 2018 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the reappointment of John Richards as a Fellow-in-Residence.

“John has had a long and productive collaboration with the Institute, most notably on social policy and issues affecting indigenous Canadians,” commented Robson. “His wisdom and energy will continue to help drive our program in these vital areas.”

John Richards is trained as an economist, and has written extensively on social policy in Canada. He is a Professor in the public policy school at Simon Fraser University. He co-edits (with Henry Milner) Inroads, a Canadian policy journal. In addition, he has undertaken extensive teaching and research in Bangladesh over the last two decades. He is currently writing a book on South Asian public schools, with  two Bangladeshi colleagues.

He is also a member of the National Council at the C.D. Howe Institute, where he also holds the Roger Phillips chair in social policy.
