“Felix is quickly emerging as a gifted economist,” commented Robson.

October 17, 2016 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the appointment of Qing (Felix) Li, Assistant Professor at the Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing, as a Fellow-in-Residence.

“Felix is quickly emerging as a gifted economist,” commented Robson. “His intellectual contributions will be a great addition to our human capital and health policy programs.”  

Qing’s main fields of research are labour economics, health economics and econometrics. He applies microeconometric approaches and techniques to individual level data from social survey and administrative health data. His research addresses policy-relevant questions through the application of economic theory with a focus on the immigrants’ labor market and health human resources. He has published co-authored papers in peer-reviewed journals such as Labour Economics and the Journal of Health Economics.

He currently holds an Assistant Professor position at the Capital University of Economics and Business and is an adjunct collaborator in the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis at McMaster University. He previously worked as a Research Analyst at the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario, a master’s in economics from the University of Waterloo, and a Ph.D. in economics from McMaster University.
