June 20, 2016 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the appointment of Tammy Schirle, Associate Professor of Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, as a Research Fellow.

Dr. Tammy Schirle’s most recent Institute report, co-authored with Alexandre Laurin and Kevin Milligan, is entitled “Comparing Nest Eggs: How CPP Reform Affects Retirement Choices.”
She is an Associate Professor of Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, an Associate Editor for Canadian Public Policy, an Editor for the B.E. Journal of Economic Analysis & Policy, the Director of the Laurier Centre for Economic Research and Policy Analysis, and a board member for the Canadian Labour Economics Forum.
She has published articles in several academic journals, including the Journal of Labor Economics, Canadian Journal of Economics, Canadian Public Policy, Social Science and Medicine, and the Review of Income and Wealth.
She holds degrees from the University of British Columbia, Dalhousie University and the University of Manitoba.
