December 20, 2019 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the re-appointment of Thomas E. Kierans as a Senior Fellow.

“Tom has played a vital role in the C.D. Howe Institute’s success over many years,” said Robson. “We are delighted to be continuing our long and fruitful association.”

“I spent ten splendid years as CEO the C.D. Howe Institute,” said Kierans, “And I am enormously impressed by the work of my successors, Jack Mintz and now Bill Robson.”

Thomas E. Kierans spent 26 years in the investment banking business. In that time, he also chaired the Ontario Economic Council, the Energy Options committee, and wrote the economics chapter of the Spicer Royal Commission.

In 1989 he retired as President of McLeod Young Weir to be CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute. Today he is primarily engaged with his appointments as distinguished senior fellow at Massey College and the Munk Global Affairs Institute at the University of Toronto.
