Paul J. Hill is Executive Chairman of The Hill Companies, founded in 1903 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada operating in the areas of real estate, insurance, energy, contract bonding (Western Surety), media, and manufacturing in Canada and the US.

Paul is actively involved in public policy with The C.D. Howe Institute, having joined the board in June 1990, serving on the Executive & Governance Committee (previously on the Audit, Finance & Risk Committee). He is or has served on the boards of the Business Council of Canada, The Fraser Institute, the Canadian Institute with the Woodrow Wilson Centre, Washington, DC, The Patrons of the Arts of the Vatican Museums, the Papal Foundation, the Paul J. Hill School of Business (University of Regina), Ivey School of Business (Western University) and the McDonough School of Business (Georgetown University), Conference Board of Canada, The Investment Dealers Association of Canada and other boards including North Canadian Oils, Canada Trust Bank, Environmental Support Systems, US Forest Products, The Saskatchewan Roughriders Football Club, Notre Dame College, Manitoba Theatre, the Regina Symphony and Founding Chair of Boardwalk REIT, and the Regina Airport Authority. He served as Chairman of Crown Life (relocating it to Regina from Toronto in 1990 which expanded the provincial GDP directly and indirectly by 10%).

Paul and Carol are passionate about founding an 11–12-year program starting in grade 6 focused on underprivileged, at-risk indigenous youth living in the North Central are of Regina of which 80% of these students will drop out and end up in the criminal justice system or become homeless. The intense and comprehensive program leads to a 70-80% graduation rate from grade school, high school, and post-secondary. The program has measurable outcomes, and everything is measured every day.

Paul has been honoured with The Order of Canada (2015), The Saskatchewan Order of Merit (2017), Inducted in the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame (2023), Knight of St. Sylvester (2010), Queen’s Golden (2002), Diamond (2012), Platinum (2022) Jubilee Medals, Canada 125 Medal, National Philanthropy Award (Paul and Carol 2011), CTV Citizens of the Year (Paul and Carol 2014), Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame (2014), Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce Leader of the Year and Business of the Year (2014), The Robert Gardikiotis Award from the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District (2018), The Red Cross Humanitarians of the Year (Paul and Carol 2017) as well as Mother Teresa Acts of Mercy Award (Paul and Carol 2015) and a star on the “Walk of Fame” at the McCallum Theatre, Palm Desert, CA (Paul and Carol 2019).

He is a graduate of Georgetown University (1967) and achieved an MBA from the Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario, Canada (1969). He has honorary Doctorate degrees from the University of Regina and the University of Western Ontario.

Paul and Carol are passionate about their relationship with their 5 children, their in-laws as well as their 12 grandchildren.
