Stephen LeClair

Stephen LeClair is currently a consultant and has served as a Commissioner with the Legislated Assembly of Ontario; being the first Financial Accountability Officer in Ontario.

Previously he was the Deputy Minister of Finance in Yukon, Assistant Deputy Minister of Budgeting, Economics and Fiscal Policy with the Government of Alberta, and Special Economic and Fiscal Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Finance for the Government of the North West Territories. He was responsible for the development of fiscal and tax policy, fiscal legislation, and economics. He also led, served and advised committees on royalty revisions, transparency reporting, and intergovernmental affairs.

With the Government of Canada he was the Head of Delegation for Canada to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Fisheries Committee and provided fiscal and reporting advice in the development of the 2004 Ten Year Plan to Strengthen Health Care. He also provided support in the development and operation of the Office of Nursing Policy. He also has been on the Board of Directors of the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) of Canada.
