Robert Hardt serves as the President and CEO of Siemens Canada. Mr. Hardt is responsible for the overall strategic management, direction and leadership for all activities in Canada.

Mr. Hardt is a proven and dedicated leader with a successful history at Siemens. Prior to being appointed President and CEO in January 2012, he held several senior management positions within Siemens Canada since joining in 2007. Mr. Hardt is an electrical engineer and began his career with Siemens AG Germany in 1988. Early in his career he was a project engineer and project manager and led several engineering and project management teams for large industrial projects. Prior coming to Canada, Mr. Hardt was responsible for the global Mining business and later for the global Air Cargo Logistics business, at Siemens’ headquarters in Germany. 

Mr. Hardt is a seasoned engineering expert and is a regular contributor on manufacturing and technology trends in the national media and through speaking engagements. He is passionate about fostering the engineering profession and education in Canada by building strong collaboration networks between industry and educational institutions.

Mr. Hardt is Chair of the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CGCIC). He is also an active member of the Council of Canadian Chief Executives (CCCE), The Learning Partnership, Council of International Chief Executives (Conference Board of Canada) and on the Advisory Council Manufacturing for the Canadian Manufactures & Exporters (CME). Mr. Hardt was also the first Honorary President of Ryerson’s Engineering Student Society.
