The Hon. James Moore, Former Minister of Canadian Heritage of Canada, Senior Business Advisor, Dentons' Government Affairs and Public Policy group
The Honourable James Moore is a Senior Business Advisor at the multinational law firm Dentons, a Public Policy Advisor at the global firm Edelman and sits on a number of corporate boards with extensive experience in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. He is a regular public affairs contributor on CBC, CTV, Global National and BNN Bloomberg.
Previously, he served as Canada's Minister of Industry, Minister of Canadian Heritage & Official Languages and Secretary of State for the Asia Pacific Gateway and Minister for the 2010 Olympics over a 5-term, 15-year career as a Member of Parliament. He was the senior regional minister for the province of British Columbia and the is the youngest cabinet minister and Member of Parliament in B.C.'s history.
Recently he served as national vice-chair of the Canadian Cancer Society, a member of the NAFTA Council for the Government of Canada and was the 6th Chancellor of the University of Northern British Columbia. He holds a BA from the University of Northern BC and an MA from the University of Saskatchewan.
Janice Stein, Belzberg Professor of Conflict Management and Negotiation, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, M.OC., O. Ont, LL.D.
Janice Gross Stein is the Belzberg Professor of Conflict Management in the Department of Political Science and the Founding Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Ontario. She was the Massey Lecturer in 2001 and a Trudeau Fellow. She was awarded the Molson Prize by the Canada Council for an outstanding contribution by a social scientist to public debate and has received Honorary Doctorates of Laws from universities in Canada and abroad. She is also an Honorary Foreign Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a Senior Fellow of the Kissinger Center at SAIS at Johns Hopkins University. Her current research focuses on technology and public policy in the context of great power competition. Last year, she co-chaired the National Advisory Committee on Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy for the Minister of Global Affairs.
