Benjamin Dachis is Associate Director, Research at the C.D. Howe Institute. He started with the C.D. Howe Institute in 2006 as a Research Fellow and also has experience with a major U.S. think tank. He returned to the C.D. Howe Institute as a Policy Analyst in January of 2008, and became a Senior Policy Analyst in 2011 and Associate Director, Research in 2016.

He has an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Science in Regional Science from the London School of Economics (LSE). He received the George and Hilda Ormsby Prize for the top MSc dissertation in the Department of Geography and Environment at the LSE. He worked at the Centre for Economic Performance, an interdisciplinary research centre at the LSE.

He has written on municipal finance, infrastructure, tax, energy, environmental and labour policy.
