January 9, 2017 – William Robson, President and CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute, announces the re-appointment of Angela Redish, Professor of Economics, Provost and Vice President Academic pro tem, UBC, as a Research Fellow.

“Anji’s scholarship in money and banking is outstanding,” remarked Robson. “We are grateful for her contributions to the Institute’s research, and look forward to continued collaboration.”

Angela Redish received her PhD from the University of Western Ontario and has been a Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Arts at the University of British Columbia since then. Her teaching and research have focused on the history of monetary and banking systems in Europe, and North American and European monetary and banking systems. In 2000-2001, she served as Special Advisor at the Bank of Canada.

From 2001 to 2006, Angela was Head of the Department of Economics, and then served as senior advisor to former UBC President Stephen Toope. From 2012 to 2015, she served as Vice Provost and Associate Vice President at UBC and in 2015, she was appointed Provost and Vice President Academic pro tem.
